Footpath Construction - Muirhead Dog Park, Mahoney Street
City of Darwin wishes to advise that we will be constructing a footpath at Muirhead dog park, Mahoney Street. This project is part of City of Darwin’s Better Suburbs Program, aimed at improving accessibility. The project will deliver the earthworks, construction of concrete footpath, establishment of grass and an airlock. We have also conducted arboriculture impact assessment to mitigate damages to existing trees.
The design is set to be completed by our team in July. Construction works are scheduled to begin in early August 2025 and are expected to be finished by the end of October 2025. Further details will be provided closer to the commencement date.
The large open dog park may not be accessible during the construction to ensure the safety of people and pets. However, the small dog park will be open.
Traffic control devices will be in place for the duration of the project to ensure public safety, so please follow all traffic management instructions. There will be minor impacts on parking and pedestrian walkways adjacent to the work site.
There will be noise disturbances and dust throughout the construction period. However, City of Darwin has made every effort to minimise impacts.
We thank you in advance for your patience and consideration
