Darwin Entertainment Centre and Melbourne International Comedy Festival present

Cheeky, loud, black and proud! Get ready for a laugh as we catch the next wave of stars before they hit it big at Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Deadly Funny event at the Darwin Entertainment Centre.

For emerging First Nations comedians who would like to take part, all you need is five minutes of hilarious material. Whether it's stand-up, musical, sketch, physical/dance, character-based, or simply sharing a funny yarn, the stage is yours. You can take part as an individual, duo, or even a trio and will be given an opportunity to sit with a seasoned professional comedian in a two-hour workshop to help refine your ideas before you unleash your talent in on stage.

For almost two decades this deadly competition has unearthed the freshest, fiercest, funniest comedians and yarn-spinners from the oldest culture on earth. Deadly Funny and has seen the likes Steph Tisdell, Kevin Kropinyeri, Andy Saunders, Shiralee Hood, Dane Simpson, Elaine Crombie and Sean Choolburra as both participants and mentors.
